Return to CebuThe Lewis’ are back in Cebu! They were greatly missed and we are so thankful to have them in the Philippines again! :) This return from furlough has been unlike anything they have experienced before…Because of the fire, they have been completely displaced. Since their arrival two weeks ago, they have made it their goal to find a new place to call home. But truly the real work begins once they find a house…they will need to buy appliances, furniture, and basic house needs. As difficult as this situation is, we have seen God do amazing things! I know He will continue to work and provide for this wonderful family. Really, He already has! We know that in God’s timing He will provide a home and everything else that goes with it! We would like to thank everyone who has already prayed and supported this family!

Great news! Our co-laborers,The Lewis Family.001 the Lewis’, have bought their plane tickets to return to Cebu! They will be leaving the USA on September 15, 2015! Please keep them in your prayers! Upon their arrival in Cebu they will have to set up a new home. It’s not going to be easy but we know the Lord is in control! Pray that they will find the right house in God’s timing!

After the Fire…

Dawn of a New ChapterIt has been two weeks since the Lewis family lost almost all their earthly possessions to a fire. Because of the extensive damage, even their house was lost…the structure that remains is completely unlivable. When the Lewis’ return to Cebu they will have to make a new start. Unfortunately, there was no insurance on the building or their things so the road ahead will be difficult. We don’t have outlets to buy items second hand so replacing them will be very costly. We also ask you to pray as we face opposition from the landlord.  The owner of the house is blaming us for the fire and seeking compensation for the damage. The official fire report identified the fire’s cause as electrical and accidental in nature but this has not satisfied the owners. Please pray that God would give us wisdom to handle the situation and that it would be resolved. It was just a few years ago that the typhoon, Haiyan, came through and ravaged the Philippines. Now, we are facing our own personal storm. The destruction has been great but we know God is in control! House FireWe ask all of our friends and supporters to keep the Lewis family- our missionary partners-in your prayers! Yesterday afternoon a fire completely consumed their home. It was an electrical fire that started in the ceiling and spread to the rest of the house. We praise the Lord, it happened in the day and no one was injured.  However, everything in the house was destroyed. Appliances, furniture, clothes, books, church storage and paperwork. Everything. Gone. We pray that you would keep Pastor Travis and Miss Angela in your prayers. We don’t understand the Lord’s plan but we are trusting Him through this trial! If you would feel burdened to help them please send any donations to Word for the World, marked Lewis Fire Fund. Our support address is as follows
