Walk in Love

Our youth workers, Ralph and Jean had a baby boy! This family has invested and loved on the teens for so many years. After church on Sunday the teens piled into the “truck” and we visited Jean and Ralph in the hospital. The saying goes, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Ralph and Jean have shown God’s love to our young people and it was a blessing to see the teens respond and exhibit their own love for their leaders. We thank the Lord for this couple and their healthy newborn baby!

A Willing Heart

We have seen some true victories at Victory Baptist Church! We invited a filipino missionary to come and present his ministry to our church. Because our congregation averages around 30 I didn’t expect a large offering. In truth, I was prepared to supplement whatever was lacking to help with the missionary’s travel expenses. But this little country church gave ph12,000 which equals around US $240.00! We serve such a great God, He can use something so small to show His enormous power.  He just needs a willing heart! What an encouragement as we prepare to serve in Bohol more and more.

God has blessed our Bible College and Institute with 15 students! It’s a great group of men and women who desire to grow in their Christian walk and service. Please pray for one student in particular, Papa Timario. Actually, he is not yet saved but he is searching. When we first moved to Cebu, his family was one of the first we invited to church. He’s heard the Gospel many times and hasn’t rejected it, but he has yet to decide what he will do with Jesus. I’m encouraged to see him choose an extra day to hear God’s Word! Please pray that he will see his urgent need for Christ and make that decision to trust Him!

A family was baptized this month! Their excitement to learn and grow is such a blessing! Brother Ronnie and Mrs. Maryvick are taking discipleship classes with Pastor Elbern. Their daughter, River Nile, is 13 and full of questions.  She has an earnest desire to do right and has already brought several friends to church!  We thank the Lord for bringing this family to us!

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,  Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; Ephesians 1:15-16
