We were so blessed by the baptisms of two of our teens on Sunday! Jay was saved at a Teen Rally in 2014 and Jeremiah was saved at our last youth camp. Both these young men have grown up at NCBC and it is such an encouragement to see their desire to obey the Lord in believer’s baptism. All the work that goes into these youth ministries is so worth it when you see souls come to Christ!

We were blessed by another fun summer activity. Vacation Bible School is a little different here at North Cebu Baptist Church. Instead of bringing the children to VBS, we bring the VBS to the children. We go to their areas, teach them principles from the Bible, and invite their families to church! This year we had several teams go into multiple areas and altogether we were able to teach over 4,000 children! This is a great way to meet new families! The first Sunday after VBS several mothers came to church and heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. We pray that they will continue to seek the Savior and be saved!
We just finished another great week of camp! Our theme this year was ‘Stand Your Ground and there were 288 campers in attendance! Yes, camp is a lot of work and it can be tiring but the blessings far outweigh everything else. This year, all of our team leaders were young adults who made important life decisions at camp back when they were teenagers! Another blessing was that 4 teens from our youth group received Christ as their Savior! Others made some wonderful decisions that I pray will last a lifetime. I believe God uses camp to reach youth. I experienced it in my own life and now I’m witnessing it happen over and over again here in the Philippines. Even though there’s a lot of expense that goes into camp, it is so worth it all when you watch these young people surrender their lives to Christ!
The Lord brought a family across our path that had never heard Christ’s Gospel! A Japanese family came to Cebu for a short vacation and to visit a couple from our church. They joined our services on Sunday; it was their very first time in church! Later that week, we had dinner with them and they asked several questions about our faith. They had seen pictures of someone dying on the cross but they had never heard who that person was and why He died. What a privilege to share salvation’s story with people who had never heard about Christ and sincerely wanted to learn. Please pray for them. Pray that they would consider Christ and His work on the cross!
