I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday! I had a great day with my little clan and church family. After our Hearts Day Banquet, the youth group surprised me with a donut cake! In previous years, they’ve come to my house at 3:00 a.m. and sang happy birthday to me. Given a choice between the two…I’ll take the cake! :) After all our travels, it is so good to be home in the Philippines.

We went to see our friends, the Langbid family at Bantayan.  We’ve been so blessed by what God is doing through their family on the island!  People have been saved, baptized, and joined Bible studies. One thing is becoming clear-they need a church building! Please pray that God would provide an affordable rental property for them to meet in. It is so exciting to watch this ministry grow!  God is at work, and we are so happy to help this church plant!

Pastor’s Conference 2018

We were blessed to host a Pastor’s Conference this month! A Canadian and a Filipino pastor partnered together to give us 186 boxes full of Bibles, tracts, and reading materials to distribute to local pastors here in Cebu. It was such a joy to see these faithful preachers receive their Bibles and tracts! One thing that is lacking here in the Philippines is good quality reading materials and tracts so these gifts were a special blessing!  After a day full of preaching and fellowship I can certainly say, it was good to be at the Lord’s house!  Our hearts are full, we are so thankful for these materials and the people who supplied them!

Our son, Micah, turned five on January 20th!  As we look at pictures from the previous year we’re amazed by how much he has grown. His baby chub is gone and he has grown almost as tall as Abigail. Watching your kids grow is a constant reminder of how fast time flies by. It makes you want to hold them a little closer and pray you do your best to raise them right!  The other day Micah looked at me and says, “Mom, I don’t want to get married.” Shocked that his little mind is already thinking about marriage I asked, “Why not?” He said, “Because I don’t have any money in my piggy bank. You need lots of money in your piggy bank to get married.” Wise thinking son! :) This season of life is so short! I’m thankful for these moments that remind me to make the most of my time with these precious blessings.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12
