We had a great time seeing a friend from one of our supporting churches! Brother Bill came to Cebu last week and joined our Sunday services. He was a blessing, participating in all the different ministries that go on during Sunday. He even played with the teens! Imagine their surprise! And he taught them a song! Though our time together was short, we enjoyed the fun and fellowship. We appreciate visits from our friends in the US and look forward to the next time!
June 8th marked Abigail’s 7th birthday! She’s already in a hurry to grow up and be 8. :) Slow down dear, I still can’t believe you’re 7! Abbie has taught us so much over the years. It’s funny, but as you teach and correct your children, the Lord often uses that time to show you your own shortcomings. As I teach Abbie to be patient, the Lord reminds me of times I was impatient. As I tell her to use words of kindness I’m reminded of my own words that I would rather forget. And I know God our Father did that on purpose! To mold us and make us better children of God! Parenting has been a wonderful learning experience and we’re so thankful for our little girl.
We were so blessed by the baptisms of two of our teens on Sunday! Jay was saved at a Teen Rally in 2014 and Jeremiah was saved at our last youth camp. Both these young men have grown up at NCBC and it is such an encouragement to see their desire to obey the Lord in believer’s baptism. All the work that goes into these youth ministries is so worth it when you see souls come to Christ!

We were blessed by another fun summer activity. Vacation Bible School is a little different here at North Cebu Baptist Church. Instead of bringing the children to VBS, we bring the VBS to the children. We go to their areas, teach them principles from the Bible, and invite their families to church! This year we had several teams go into multiple areas and altogether we were able to teach over 4,000 children! This is a great way to meet new families! The first Sunday after VBS several mothers came to church and heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. We pray that they will continue to seek the Savior and be saved!
