What another wonderful week of candidate school! Every time I go my sweet Lord gives me exactly what I need. The first time I went I was single, the second time I was married, and this time I am a husband and a father. God is so good to use others to encourage, strengthen, and challenge me in my personal walk with my Lord. Many thanks to the men that preached the messages that God told them to preach and teach. The theme was about running the race with patience (Hebrews 12:1). I surely need for my God to give me patience. During the week, Bro. Fred Wall, missionary to Haiti for over 30 years was in to teach us young missionaries a few things about mission work. It was exciting to hear his stories of the Lord’s provision and protection. Souls are getting saved and lives are being transformed for the glory of our dear God. This makes me want to be in the Philippines even more but God has a plan. I wholeheartedly believe that He will get us in the field in His time. Sometimes we want to do the work of God right now and we don’t realize that He wants us to prepare first so that when the time comes we will be ready and more effective at the job. A preacher once said, “God is more interested in making us than He is using us.” Another preacher said, “Time spent in preparation is not wasted time.”
