Reaching the Youth!

On October 19th, NCBTeensC hosted its 4th Teen Connection! Teen Connection is a great tool we use to reach the young people of Cebu. It gives us the opportunity to present the Gospel and show teens that they can have fun without sin. We play games, perform a skit, and have preaching designed specifically for the young people. We had a great turnout and literally filled the church with visitors and returning guests.  When the time came for them to go home, several teens told us that they would be back for church next Sunday!  Teen Connection is just one way for us to get involved in the lives of these teens and their families. This is just the beginning….we pray that through this ministry we will find many more opportunities to share the gospel and touch a life.

Never underestimBaptism Collageate the influence of a mother! A mother can sow the seeds of faith in her children as she daily cares for their needs. When a mother faithfully attends church, she shows her children that God is real and that He is a major part of life. There is a dear lady that has attended NCBC for years with her large family of boys and two little girls. Her oldest child is enrolled in our Bible college and her youngest is only a toddler. It is this mother’s desire to see her children love the Lord and serve Him! Two of her middle sons accepted Christ as their Savior and wanted to be baptized! The smiles on their faces tell a wonderful story of faith…a faith that they first saw in their mother.

Grandparents collageWe have been given a wonderful blessing! My wife’s parents came all the way to Cebu to see me! While I am sure they are very pleased to see their (wonderful) son-in-law I know they are really excited to see Elizabeth and the kiddos. Skype has been a great tool for us to keep in contact with our loved ones and it blesses my heart to know that Abbie and Micah will know their family members living in the States. The kids are not scared of my in-laws; they know who they are because of Skype. I thank the Lord for this little blessing. There are times Elizabeth and I get frustrated with our slow internet but overall we know we are supremely blessed. There was a time when being a missionary meant that you were completely cut off from your loved ones-it was a blessing to receive a letter every six months! So we thank the Lord for our families and the internet that has kept us connected.  We are savoring these precious few weeks with my in-laws and the conversations that are never interrupted by poor internet reception! :)
