We were blessed to hear from home this week! A young man from our route asked the Lord to save his soul! Andrew is a young father that has attended church with his family for a few years now. His wife was saved and baptized last year so it has been such a blessing to see this family come to Christ.  This is what it’s all about folks! Keep inviting people to church, keep reaching out to the world and let Christ work in their hearts. You never know who is listening!

Rescue the perishing, duty demands it; Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide; Back to the narrow way patiently win them; Tell the poor wand’rer a Savior has died.”

Birthday in Texas

The last time I celebrated my birthday in Texas, I was just a college student. Now, all these years later I’m back with my little family. It’s amazing to see what God has done in my life since I was in Bible School.  For one, I’m thankful for my wife and kids. The Lord has truly blessed me! This year was a little more special too because for my first birthday ever, Abigail wrote a sweet birthday note in my card. That was enough to melt this daddy’s heart. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday!

It was one of those mornings…we had traveled several hours the day before and arrived at our hotel late. The kids were full of energy and I was doing my best to keep up. :) The three of us finished our breakfast at the hotel and started to leave when a lady approached us. She told me it had been a treat to watch the kids enjoy their breakfast. She then asked where we were from and I told her we were missionaries to the Philippines.  She smiled, “Thank you so much for what you do! We’re Baptists and we love how God is using missionaries around the world!” I took the kids back to our room and realized that I completely forgot to get Chris his breakfast! I ran back downstairs, a little flustered. This time the lady’s husband approached me. He said, “Are you and your husband missionaries?” I smiled, “Yes, sir.” He reached for my hand and gave me a one hundred dollar bill. I stood there in shock. I didn’t know these people. We weren’t even in church! This was a morning I was just trying to survive. My eyes teared up as I thanked this couple for being a blessing!  Here I was in a hotel in Texas when the Lord brought this dear couple across my path. God let me know I was on His mind, even when I wasn’t expecting it.

Southern hospitality….is it a fact or myth? :) After being down south for over a month I can say it’s true!  We were so blessed by the all the churches we visited in Alabama. The Lord gave us several opportunities to share our ministry and meet some wonderful folks. In our adventures, we met some great guys who would proudly call themselves rednecks. :) Micah got to shoot some bb guns and I got to blow up some stuff. :) Seriously! Think old grills and bowling pins. Yep, we made some great memories! I think I’m getting an accent y’all! We are so thankful for the time we had with these dear folks. Please pray for us as we travel to Texas!
