This year I was able to attend a couple of the evenings services at the annual tent meeting that Old Time Baptist Church hosted. I had a good time hearing the Word of God being preached by the Holy Spirit through the different men that spoke. I was challenged to redeem the time and to keep keeping on. I looked at some of the seasoned preachers and how they have been faithful throughout the years by God’s grace and I know I can be faithful like them if I keep close to my blessed Lord. I was also privileged to have meet Pastor Ed Lorena of San Pedro, Laguna Philippines. The Lord has intrusted him as the undershepherd of a great work. The church that he pastors runs about 3,000 in attendance weekly and is heavily involved in local and worldwide evangelism. I was able to talk to him during some of the meal times and asked him several questions about the Lord’s work in the Philippines. I was blessed to have learned several valuable things that will help me when I get to the Philippines. The Lord is so good to put people in your lives at the time that you need them. Praise His Holy name!

Praise the Lord for giving me another opportunity to be able to help in another vacation Bible school. This time I was able to work with Bro. Tom Geer. He has been a very influential person in my life. It has been a privilege to have worked with him. He really has a heart for the children. God has used him and continues to use him. He was one of the few missionaries that I can remember who came to me when I was a young boy and seriously asked me to pray for the ministry that the Lord has entrusted him with. I have a lot of respect for him. I look forward to working with him again in the future. The theme of the week was children under construction. The children responded really well to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. I was asked to teach the memory verse of each day to the 3-4th grade boys. I had a good time!

It has been a crazy August with so much going on, but that is are normal schedule around here in our church. We try to take advantage of the nice weather. In the beginning of the  month we participated in our local parade. We were able to pass out about two thousand packets that contained information about our church, a gospel tract, and a John and Romans. We would have passed out more but half way in the parade it started raining and they canceled it due to lightning and thunder. I along with several others were soak and wet. Please pray that these packets would be used by the Lord to draw people to Himself.

Chris and Elizabeth

Chris and Elizabeth

The Lord has been very good to me in giving me so many blessings that I do not deserve. One particular blessing that He has given me is the opportunity to develop a friendship with a wonderful godly young lady.  She is Pastor Keith Troyer’s daughter her name is Elizabeth. We met each other at  the Bible Camp that Pastor Krohn directs. We have known each other for about six years now through the camp and other various church events. We started to email each other regularly last December with permission from her dad. Then with much prayer and counseling I decided to ask her to court me officially on April 15, 2009. The fifteenth of April will not be a bad day after all since she said,… YES!!! Then after more prayer and counseling I arranged to propose to her during  Junior Camp in Butler, PA. After a moment of shock, she resoundingly said, … YES!!! We are officially engaged to be married on November 28, 2009 at the Grace of Calvary Baptist Church, Erie, PA.
