The Baran Family

In these past couple days we enjoyed spending time with a friend of ours from the Philippines.  Pastor Nem Lesada is also my mom’s pastor in Manilla.  So needless to say it was very exciting to see him and his wife. When we took our survey trip in February we stayed with them for two weeks.  They were a big help and encouragement to us. So when they said they would like to see Niagara Falls we were happy to take them.  They will return to the Philippines later this year.  This was an unexpected visit so we are very thankful for the time we had together.

Pastor Emery and Bible Baptist Church invited us to join them in their missions conference this month.  The theme was “His Plan, Our Purpose.” Each day was well attended and the people were excited about the conference.  While we were there we accidentally became a part of a Heart Awareness Day at Lake Erie.  The way that happened is a story in itself but I will say we had a fun day.  Another missionary going to Latvia was with us and we greatly enjoyed the fellowship.  It was a great week!  The church was a wonderful blessing to us.

We were privileged to go to a wonderful wedding on September 11. The groom, Sam Hazlett, has been a friend of mine for many years.  While we were at the wedding it was neat to contemplate Sam’s life and see what he has become.  By God’s grace he’s grown into a young man who truly wants to do something for God.  Now, he’s married a young lady who has the same desire.   The Lord certainly got the glory! It was a precious wedding.  When you wait on God’s timing and let Him bring the right person into your life it truly is a beautiful thing. “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time…” Ecclesiastes 3:11
