Never underestimBaptism Collageate the influence of a mother! A mother can sow the seeds of faith in her children as she daily cares for their needs. When a mother faithfully attends church, she shows her children that God is real and that He is a major part of life. There is a dear lady that has attended NCBC for years with her large family of boys and two little girls. Her oldest child is enrolled in our Bible college and her youngest is only a toddler. It is this mother’s desire to see her children love the Lord and serve Him! Two of her middle sons accepted Christ as their Savior and wanted to be baptized! The smiles on their faces tell a wonderful story of faith…a faith that they first saw in their mother.

Grandparents collageWe have been given a wonderful blessing! My wife’s parents came all the way to Cebu to see me! While I am sure they are very pleased to see their (wonderful) son-in-law I know they are really excited to see Elizabeth and the kiddos. Skype has been a great tool for us to keep in contact with our loved ones and it blesses my heart to know that Abbie and Micah will know their family members living in the States. The kids are not scared of my in-laws; they know who they are because of Skype. I thank the Lord for this little blessing. There are times Elizabeth and I get frustrated with our slow internet but overall we know we are supremely blessed. There was a time when being a missionary meant that you were completely cut off from your loved ones-it was a blessing to receive a letter every six months! So we thank the Lord for our families and the internet that has kept us connected.  We are savoring these precious few weeks with my in-laws and the conversations that are never interrupted by poor internet reception! :)

Boxer for ChristWe have several young boxers attending our services at NCBC!  One of these young men has accepted the Lord as his Savior and is a first year student at our Bible college. Pray for him, it is his goal to start a bible study at a gym with other boxers. Another young man, still currently in the boxing profession is now actively bringing his boxer buddies to church with him! Right now he is also going through Disciplship Studies with our assistant pastor. It is a blessing to see these young men get saved and grow in their Christian walk. God is still working in hearts!

This past July we hreach the worldad a Route competition to see how many people we could bring to church from our jeepney routes. It was a wonderful success and we reached a total of 290 visitors in the month of July! The Lord blessed us with children, teens, and adults giving us the opportunity to share the gospel with each of these newcomers. Now, as we enter August, we have seen several people return to hear more about Christ. Please pray that we could have Bible studies with these new comers and lead them to the Savior!
