I believe in the unseen. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Several experiences on farms have taught me the reality of things not seen.
A farm near ours had a barbed wire fence around a field to keep the cattle in. Having much experience at climbing fences, I approached this one as all others. I thought I would grab the wire between the barbs, push it down, and just step over. That day I learned what the phrase “live wire” meant.
Electricity cannot be seen but sure can be felt! Wow. I developed a healthy respect for electric fences.
My oldest brother George once illustrated the reality of another unseen power - gravity. From about twenty-five feet up a poplar tree, he decided to fall out while Dave and I watched from below. His descent was quick, only slowed by an occasional branch in his way.
Dave and I laughed for awhile until we realized he might be seriously hurt. Fortunately he just had the wind knocked out of him.
Yes, I believe in the unseen. I have seen their power: electricity, gravity, wind, sound, light, etc. They are very real. Your faith in them can become experiential!
Of our Lord it is said, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:8-9).
Trust in Jesus Christ today as your Saviour. He will come into your life and you will experience that He is very real.
