We were invited to join Pastor George Alquist and Grace of Calvary Baptist church for their annual missions conference in Erie, Pennsylvania.  This was a special meeting to us as this was the church where we were married. The people were very gracious and continually provided for our needs.  They had a special time on Saturday morning when the church folks could fellowship with the missionaries and learn more about our families.  Each missionary couple was also provided time to give their testimony and answer questions about their respective fields.  It was a wonderful day of fellowship that also gave the missionaries an opportunity to get to know the church. This special time would be a benefit to many churches.  It enables both the church and the missionary to know how to pray for each other and the people really get to know their missionaries.

We thank Evangelical Baptist Church for allowing us to be a part of their meeting.  Pastor Jim Donath had us share our burden with the church and Elizabeth and I both gave our testimonies.  We even sang, our first time to do so on the road. We are enjoying serving Him together.  We have met a lot of sweet  and godly people in our travels.  That is always a big encouragement to us.

Please pray that I will book more meetings and that the Lord would direct us to the right churches.

I also ask you to pray for my mom, Mila.  She has some major decisions to make and needs wisdom.

Praise the Lord, four more supporters have partnered with us financially and in prayer. We’re now at 35% of our support.  We thank Cornerstone Bible Baptist Church in Ransomville, New York, Walker Bible Baptist Church in Hilton, New York, Victory Baptist Church in Sheridan, New York, and a dear family in our home church!

Our Journey in the Philippines

After great anticipation, the time for our survey trip finally arrived.  We spent our first two weeks in Cebu with Brother Lewis and his family.  During this time we were able to see the ministry firsthand.  We are excited about what God is going to do!  Our many questions were answered and because of this trip, we now have clear direction on what our part will be there in the ministry.  We are looking forward to the day when we return.  While we were in Cebu the church hosted a Hearts Day activity for the teenagers.  They had over a hundred teens attend and 90% of them were first timers.  Elizabeth led three young ladies to the Lord and many others also received Christ.  Please pray they will continue to go to the church and grow!

For our final two weeks, we went to Manila to visit my mother.  This was the first time Elizabeth and my mother had ever met.  It was wonderful to see her after two years.  Praise the Lord, she is faithfully attending church with my sister, brother, and his wife.  It was exciting to see how they have grown in Christ since my last visit. Please pray that my other family members will also be saved.

This survey trip was a great blessing to Elizabeth and I.  Unfortunately, while we were in Cebu two funerals occurred that directly affected the church.  It was a sad reminder of why the Lord wants us in the Philippines.  We hope to return quickly and do what we know is God’s will for our lives.
