The Lord has blessed us with some faithful mothers on our route in Nasipit. Two young women trusted in Christ several months ago and have been faithfully coming on Sunday. Now they have even expressed their desire to join us at church on Wednesday! It has been an encouragement to see these ladies and their children become a part of our church family! One of these dear mothers we just discovered will soon be moving to another island in the Philippines. It is very hard to say goodbye after all the time and love we have invested in them! The littlest member of the family just turned one and was publicly dedicated to the Lord. It was a special moment, and we were blessed to see this family’s desire to serve the Lord! We pray that even though we will be islands apart, this dear family will continue to grow in their walk with Christ. We are so thankful for the time we had with them and pray that everything they have learned will continue to impact them for the rest of their lives!

Route Blessings
Several months have passed since we first invited our landlord and her workers to come to church. For the first time this past Sunday a young girl who helps our landlord finally came! She’s a nice girl, who like many young people here in the Philippines comes from a poor home. She can’t even read or write but yet she always has a smile. We were so excited to have her visit our church! After the service she was given a clear presentation of the Gospel and asked the Lord to save her soul! Please pray for Gessa, that she would keep coming to church and grow in her new-found faith!
Visitors From Nasipit
It was great to have a new family from our route come to church for the first time! Not only did they come but they drove themselves and came on a Sunday night, which is rare. We have been visiting them for months now and have enjoyed several good discussions about the Bible. The father is Catholic but has been very open to hearing the Gospel. What a tremendous joy to see him walk through the door with his wife and son! After months of planting seeds he finally came! That can only be the Lord! Please pray that this man and his family would receive Christ as their Savior!
Family Park
The Kids from Our Route
After a little competition, the church took the children who had been faithful during the month of September to Family Park. The park was a special treat for the kids where they could see monkeys, rabbits, birds, and goats. It was also an experience for us Americans who are used to seeing these animals separated and in their own exhibits. At one point a monkey was given a banana and immediately a group of ducks swarmed under his cage, trying to snatch a bite. Frustrated, the monkey started smacking the ducks in the head! I had never seen anything like that in a petting zoo before! Just another moment that said, “Welcome to the Philippines.” It was a great day where we got to show the kids that Christians can have good wholesome fun in this increasingly sinful world.
