3!

Micah turned 3 on January 20th! He is growing fast and so is his vocabulary!  At this point, Micah cannot differentiate between the Cebuano and English words he knows. For him, it is all one big language. At church, when his teacher asks a question, Micah will raise his hand and say, “Ako ako!” which means “Me! Me!” When something gets wet he’ll look at me and say, “It’s basa dad!” This little guy loves to go visiting with me and it makes the Filipinos so happy to hear him speak their language.  We have seen the Lord use this to start conversations and witness to people! Even though he’s only 3 God is using little Micah on the mission field. As Micah’s parents, it is our prayer that God would continue to use him throughout his entire life!

Happy Birthday, son!

Sweet SmileOur little girl turned 4 this month! We thank the Lord for this little fireball…she is such a blessing to our hearts. This year, Abigail, asked for a simple birthday gift…pancakes! :) But it didn’t take long for things to change; later in the car and she looked at me and said, “Can I drive?” WOW, that escalated quickly! lol. Let’s wait on that for another 12-13 years! :) These past 4 years have been so much fun. We love our little birthday girl!

My 30th Birthd30!ay came with several surprises this year, making it even more special! First, my wife surprised me by throwing a surprise birthday party-then the bible college students came to our home early one morning to sing happy birthday (A fun Filipino tradition)-then our youth group got together and bought a cake for me! I have been blessed in so many ways and thank the Lord for another year to serve Him. I don’t know what this year will bring but what a great start!

OuMicahr Micah turned 2 on January 20th! As we look at pictures from these last two yers, we just feel amazed that our baby is now a little man. He loves basketball and tries to swipe all the stray balls when the teens play at church!  As I watch him grow I am overwhelmed by a sense of responsibility. This sweet, carefree toddler needs to be taught and loved. I love the verse in Proverbs, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.Raising children is a lot of work, but the rewards from teaching and loving on them is immense! I pray that he grows loving God and loving people.
