This sermon was preached in 1996 on December 12th. Each year Pastor Kohl has a theme which he stresses throughout the year. In 1996 the theme was grace. This is a great message. It has a corresponding booklet that goes along with it. We have it online in HTML format here: Grace In The New Testament. We recently received some requests for the booklet and this sermon so we present it as our next podcast. I Frank Broughton, learned much from that year’s emphasis on Grace. To this day I end most my correspondence with the phrase “God’s grace.” This sermon was originally recorded on cassette tape but has been converted and enhanced digitally.

Found this gem of a book and decided to add it to our site. It was written back yonder in the 1800′s but is so much still needed today: The Duties of Parents – John Charles Ryle (1816-1900)

In the book the author reminds us that we need to train our children rightly. He lists several very important areas that need training:

1. Knowledge of the Bible
2. To develop a habit of prayer, faith, obedience, and always speak the truth
3. To be diligent
4. To redeem the time
5. Not to over-indulge
6. … and much more (17 chapters in total)
