Nursing Home Ministry
• What is the Nursing Home Outreach?
The Nursing Home Outreach is a ministry to lonely and elderly people, some of whom are near eternity. We have the privilege of visiting with and ministering to these people by conducting “church services” on a regular basis.
• Which Nursing Homes Do We Minister In?
We put on monthly church services at the Absolut Care Nursing Home in Eden and the Gowanda Nursing Home.Twice a year (for Christmas and Easter) we put on a program at the Lakeshore Nursing Home in Irving.
• Who Is In Charge of This Ministry?
Pastor Seth is the head of this ministry, and it is usually the teenagers in our youth group who put on the actual programs.
• What Happens at These Meetings?
Each service usually includes a time of hymn singing, some special music by the teenagers, readings of poems and/or stories, and a brief devotional lesson.
• How Many Residents Come?
At the Absolut Care, all 30 of the residents attend our services. In Gowanda, anywhere from 25 to 50 of the 160 residents come. At Lakeshore, we minister to every one who lives there, usually 100 or so.
• How Can I Be Involved?
Anyone is welcome to lend their time or talents. Whether you can sing, play an instrument, or just sit and hold a hand, your availability would be greatly appreciated! Talk to Pastor Seth for service times and directions.
