Is homosexuality a sin or sickness? Is it acceptable? Atrocity or alternate lifestyle? Is it gay or gross? A preacher once stated, “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!” Homosexuality is nothing new-it is only discussed more openly now. History says that Socrates, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, and Augustus Caeser were homosexuals. Sutonious, in his book, The 12 Caesers said 14 of the first 15 emperors in Rome were homosexuals. Nero seduced young boys. He even married one!
The scriptural word for this perverted lifestyle are “sodomy,” “effeminate” or “without natural affection.”
Deuteronomy 23:17, “There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.”
Sodomites were made to live on the outside of Israel’s camp.
Deuteronomy 23:18, “Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.”
Sodomites were also called “dogs.”
ABOMINATION TO GOD
1 Kings 14:24, “And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.”
God hated this sin back then, and He still hates it today!
SODOMITES WERE RUN OUT OF TOWN
1 Kings 15:11-12, “And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.”
2 Kings 23:7, “And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.”
SODOMITES ARE NOT BORN, BUT FORMED
Romans 1:21-27, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”
Note the downward progression beginning with “unthankfulness.” A reprobate is someone unable to discern evil. It also means “unacceptable to God.” Proverbs 29:15, “The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.”
Notice what Ezekiel 16:49 says about the perverted city called Sodom: “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” There is more idleness in our nation today than anytime in its history.
Jude 1:7, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
BONDAGE OF SIN
Sodomy produces guilt, lonleness, selfishness, rejection, suspicion, and increased hostility. It is claimed that 50% of all suicides are attributed to sodomy. This perverted sin is promoted by music, pornography, television, movie theatres, and rock stars. Guyana has accepted this sin as a normal lifestyle.
UNISEX MOVEMENT
The devil has been working hard to break down the barrier between the sexes. Sociologists claim that by the year 2000, men and women may change roles is becoming true. Men are becoming feminine with longer hair, earrings and nail polish, while women have shorter hair, more masculine jobs and men’s clothing. Many times they have to lead the homes, too. Even pants on women were not common until the 1960’s. There are now lingerie shops for men. One rock singer said, “I hope my son has an early homosexual experience.” It is sad the word gay is used to describe sodomites. They are not happy people.
WARNINGS TO PARENTS
Do not smother your children. An absent or passive dad, plus a smothering mom is well on the way to rearing a pervert. One family expert has concluded that:
A melancholy temperament, plus
A permissive childhood, plus
Insecurity about sex role, plus
An early sexual experience equals -> A HOMOSEXUAL
Give security in the home. Let your children know that God made no mistake in which sex He created them. Guard your children from strangers and relatives. Keep your eyes on them. Know where they are and who they are with.
PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS
Cleanse your home of pornography. If you ever had effeminate tendencies, denounce and confess them as sin. If you are a parent, point your children toward good role models-masculine men and feminine women.
Dress your boy like a boy.
Dress your girl like a girl.
Stay modest around the house (Leviticus 18-20). Avoid any unisex clothing and hair styles. Bathe in the Word of God and never let your conscience be seared to the point of accepting this sin.
