We just finished another great week of camp! Our theme this year was ‘Stand Your Ground and there were 288 campers in attendance! Yes, camp is a lot of work and it can be tiring but the blessings far outweigh everything else. This year, all of our team leaders were young adults who made important life decisions at camp back when they were teenagers!  Another blessing was that 4 teens from our youth group received Christ as their Savior! Others made some wonderful decisions that I pray will last a lifetime.  I believe God uses camp to reach youth. I experienced it in my own life and now I’m witnessing it happen over and over again here in the Philippines. Even though there’s a lot of expense that goes into camp, it is so worth it all when you watch these young people surrender their lives to Christ!

                              Our Little Pirates!

Summer Camp was a blessing again this year! We had 250 campers join us for a week of preaching and fun.  Our theme this year, Character Counts, has been one of our favorites! Throughout the week teens were encouraged to develop godly character in their lives. Our pirate crew was a lot of fun too! :) Throughout the week several souls were saved and teens made important decisions that will impact their lives for years to come!  We were so privileged to be at camp working alongside our church!

10 days until we return to the Philippines! When we arrive, the church will be in the middle of camp prep. This is an exciting season and we are so happy that we’ll be back to participate! Please pray for camp! Pray that teens would make great decisions for Christ. Pray that there would be no injuries throughout the week. Pray that souls would be saved.

2016-Teen 2 Week 4-0508Last week, we went with our home church to summer camp! It was wonderful to return to our old stomping grounds and see our friends at Commonground Baptist Camp.  In some ways, things haven’t changed. It’s still a place where teens can hear solid preaching and make monumental decisions for Christ. What has changed is the campers themselves. We don’t know this new group of young people; they were so young when we left 4 years ago. Now, they are the teenagers, the future of our churches! In these last days, we need them more than ever.  Praise the Lord, God is still using camp to reach teens and change lives. Camp meant so much to me as a young man and it is so good to see it help others too!
