Birthday in Texas

The last time I celebrated my birthday in Texas, I was just a college student. Now, all these years later I’m back with my little family. It’s amazing to see what God has done in my life since I was in Bible School.  For one, I’m thankful for my wife and kids. The Lord has truly blessed me! This year was a little more special too because for my first birthday ever, Abigail wrote a sweet birthday note in my card. That was enough to melt this daddy’s heart. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday!

Our Micah turned 4 this month!  This has been a year full of firsts for our little guy. This was his first year to see friends and loved ones in the States. It was his first year to see the snow and build a snowman! He has traveled all over the US and tried all kinds of new food. He has grown so much this year. Gone are his chubby cheeks and stubby little legs. In Micah’s own words, “I’m a little BIG kid!”  Time is moving far too fast for our liking. :) We are so thankful God gave us this special little guy.

Abbie's 5

We celebrated Abigail’s 5th birthday this month! This is going to be an exciting year for our little girl. She will travel to the States, start kindergarten, and experience many new adventures! She is most excited about seeing loved ones and playing in the snow! So much has changed in these last five years. We can hardly believe our little girl is a kindergartener!  Looking back, we are so thankful for these moments we’ve had with our daughter. It’s not something we ever want to take for granted! Thank you, Lord, for this blessing!

3!

Micah turned 3 on January 20th! He is growing fast and so is his vocabulary!  At this point, Micah cannot differentiate between the Cebuano and English words he knows. For him, it is all one big language. At church, when his teacher asks a question, Micah will raise his hand and say, “Ako ako!” which means “Me! Me!” When something gets wet he’ll look at me and say, “It’s basa dad!” This little guy loves to go visiting with me and it makes the Filipinos so happy to hear him speak their language.  We have seen the Lord use this to start conversations and witness to people! Even though he’s only 3 God is using little Micah on the mission field. As Micah’s parents, it is our prayer that God would continue to use him throughout his entire life!

Happy Birthday, son!
