This missions conference was a unexpected blessing. I had been praying for a meeting this week and the Lord again provided for our needs.  They invited us to their church the night before the conference started and thankfully despite the short notice we were able to present our burden to the Philippines. It is exciting to see the Lord direct our way and answer prayer!

Throughout deputation we have met many wonderful missionary families. In the short time we have been on the road we have seen the burden of many others and made lasting friends.  Among these friends are the Fairs, veteran missionaries to Papau New Guinea. We came across their path again this past Sunday.  I first met him in Rossville, Georgia at Word for the World Baptist ministries.  We had a great time of fellowship this week.  Lord willing, we will see them again in Georgia at Candidate School where my wife will be officially accepted by our clearing house.

Pastor Dave Maulucci and Grace Baptist Church of Beaver Dams also had us come to their missions conference this month.  The people were very kind and provided for our needs.  We stayed at the pastor’s home and enjoyed getting to know them more. They took us to Watkins Glen,  a beautiful State Park, filled with magnificent gorges and waterfalls.  At one point we actually stood behind the cascading falls.  It was a memorable day for us.  We also had a chance to visit my family who lives in the area.  It was a visit we hadn’t planned but very much enjoyed.

This has been the second year that I have been a part of Lighthouse Baptist Church’s missions conference. Perhaps it’s because they really like me???  Or perhaps it’s because they had not yet met Mrs. Baran. Whatever the reason, we enjoyed being with our friends again.  Brother Richard Rawls was the main speaker and did a wonderful job.    He has been a real blessing to me since I started deputation.
