In Amish Country!

We made a trip into Sugar Creek Ohio with the Senior Saints from Grace Baptist Church.  My wife and I had a great time with the church folks as we explored this unique place.  From Amish cheeses to wood working, there was a lot to see.  It  was almost like going into another country in many ways.   These people live a life that we can respect but many of them, like Catholics are depending on their good works and religion to save them. They need salvation which can only come through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The day after our meeting in Calvary Heights we went to Bradford Baptist Church.  Pastor Daniel Mills had us present our work and Evangelist Chris Chavez preached.  His message was on fear and it’s results.  Fear is a powerful weapon we often inflict on ourselves and allow to put doubts in our mind about God and His power.  Whether directly or indirectly we don’t trust God because of our fear and it can disable us.  Ask yourself, what do you fear?   II Timothy 1:7

We had a meeting with Pastor Nuijens and Calvary Heights Baptist Church this past week.  I was given an opportunity to preach and also to present the work.  The meeting only lasted for one day but in that time we were overwhelmed with the kindness of the church people.  So many came to us and took the time to ask questions and to learn more about the mission field where God is leading us. What a blessing.

We were able to visit Massillon Baptist College during a preacher’s conference early this month with my father-in-law.  Pastor Thayer had invited us down to set up our display and to give a short testimony.  Through this we were able to meet new contacts. We’ve been praying the Lord would give us meetings in New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio and that we could get our support mainly from these states.  Although, if other doors open we will branch out.  Thus far the Lord has continued to give us meetings in  these areas.  If we can get the majority of our support from these states, not only will it be a blessing to us now with gas costs and just traveling in general but it will also be a benefit when we return for furlough from the Philippines.
